Eastoft is a parish in the north of the Isle of Axholme. The parish of Eastoft was created in 1855 from part of Crowle Parish.

Eastoft - c.1170 Eschetoft

eski - Place growing with ash trees (Old Scandinavian)

toft - Site of a house, curtilage or homestead. (Old Scandinavian)

eski + toft = Eastoft

Meaning - Homestead, house or curtilage where ash trees are growing
